This adventure was a trip to Napa with my family, and in doing so got to visit Monticello Dam. Monticello Dam features one of the largest man made drain holes in the world. For those of you who are interested: the week of 02/20/2017 – the drain should reach capacity and be on full display pumping some 48,400 cubic feet per second (1,370 m3/s). I also took my family to Castello di Amorosa which features a 40 million dollar castle & winery that contains authentic stone shipped from Italy. If you can visit one place in Napa, I highly recommend Castello di amorosa. They have wine tasting, private tours as well as public tours that are perfect even for the casual observer.
